I thought I would take a moment to blog about my day thus far. I got up before 0800 this morning and made me a cappuccino. Yummy! I am so glad we have an espresso maker with a steamer for milk. Anyway, I digress.
As soon as my hubby left for work this morning, I started getting busy picking up and doing general cleaning of the house in preparation for my father's arrival on Monday, June 7th. I've also done some laundry and I'm watering the back yard, as well. Somewhere in there I've also managed to be on facebook and chat with my cousin Terri for about 5 minutes.
The only downside to having a child and dog in the house is that once I've swept and mopped the floor I have to do it all over again because my 7 year old 'accidentally' let the dog out the back slider and of course the dog runs straight for the running water and mud! GRRRR!!!
Anyway, I've about giving up mopping for today and anything else I was hoping to get completed. Not only does the 7 year NOT listen to me and do what I tell her, but drags the dog into the fray. I think it's time for a time out.
Well, perhaps that's a tad too much. But, I have finally put my foot down and told her that she is not allowed to run around the house like a mad person anymore and that she needs to stop hitting the dog with the dog's toy (a stuffed bear). I did put her in her room for a few moments and she came out and apologized.
Kids...gotta love 'em, especially when they're yours!
