Sunday Evening Edition, brought to you by - ME!
I finally found someone to do my nails - someone who loves what she does and doesn't need or want to charge an arm and a leg to do it out of her home.
I met Chandra couple of weeks ago while walking around the block with my 7 year old - who just happened to see a yard sale sign.
I couldn't say no, so of course we walked on over to see what was for sale...Carli found lots of toys! Anyway, we introduced ourselves and discovered we share a birthday. I also had a bent nail at the time and was inquiring as to whether or not she could fix it - she said it would be no problem.
As it turns out, I wasn't able to come up with the money to pay her and ended up waiting a couple of weeks until the finances were available. In the meantime, my bent nail over the course of those couple of weeks broke off in the middle of the night, while I was sleeping, and I woke up and took it off...sounds painful, but I promise, it wasn't.
I finally got my nails done tonight! I set up my appointment with Chandra - who lives less than a block from my house...so easy, I can walk there whenever I've got an appointment for a fill or new set - which won't be for a couple more months.
What's sad about all of this is that I have been going to the same nail salon for the past three years and loved going there. Was treated with respect and kindness and the employees loved my daughter. However, the last time I went there and got my new set, the guy who did them didn't listen to my request to have a short set of tips and instead made them as long as the old ones he'd just removed.
That and having my nail break off, which has NEVER happened before. Talk about disappointment. I should have gone back - but it's such a hassle for me since I don't have a vehicle...and work during the day...
My hands look so much better with acrylic nails and I love the compliments I get when they look nice. I may be 46, but when my nails are pretty, I don't feel my age.
Chandra did an awesome job and I will continue going to her for fills and a new set. I just hope she continues to work with me on the prices.
This blog is mostly, totally about me and what happens during my day. I try to blog daily, but as we all know, that almost never happens. Hope you enjoy this!

Happy Sunday!

Well, now here it is, really 0830 and we are all finally awake and having a cappuccino before we get dressed and head to our first family church visit. We are converting to Catholicism. Now granted, this is a personal decision for my husband, for me and our daughter. We are not asking for permission from anyone outside of our immediately family, nor are we asking for comments or concerns.
If someone wants to ask us why Catholicism, we will be happy to answer their questions and we are not willing to debate the issue. What we do in our private lives is our business and no one else's. Not even our parents know just yet what we've decided and that's because we are just barely beginning our journey into our new found Christianity.
Last night we went shopping to buy some new 'church going' clothes for Carli and I. Dad had already bought some new clothes a couple of months ago and was in no dire need of anything new, except some dress socks. Carli and I, however, were another matter entirely.
Carli ended up with three new outfits (including her dress, shawl, shoes and socks - specifically for church) and I ended up with two new outfits, which I can also wear to work should I choose to. I even got a new pair of high heels! which I will probably not wear very often! At least on some Sundays I will, but that'll be the only time.
Once we all completely dressed and ready to go, there is going to be a family portrait taken (self-portrait, that is), I can't wait to see how pretty we all are!

First Entry
So, here's my first entry into "A Day In The Life Of Me". This is going to be (I hope) a daily blog of what transpired during my day whether it be during the week or on the weekend.
I have always, somewhere else and never in the same place, blogged briefly about what happened during work or some other time. I needed one particular spot in which to do it and I have made that place - here on blogntweet.
I hope to get some followers...someone who will read, make comments, give advice when I ask for it and generally become someone who can relate to what I'm blogging about. I hope you find it interesting.
